As the federal government shutdown enters its 14th day with no end in sight, those of us in the industry have to wonder - what does this mean for travel? At least in the short term, basic functions related to travel will continue unimpeded. There are some immediate impacts, however, including the closure of national parks and federally-run museums, and the longer the shutdown persists the greater the likelihood of negative consequences for the travel industry. To help you answer client questions, the ASTA staff has put together a point-by-point update for members, which we will update periodically. Take a look!
