Last week, ASTA President & CEO Zane Kerby joined over 150 travel professionals at the Tourism Cares for Puerto Rico service project. The three-day event brought together the travel industry, governmental officials, the agriculture community and others to support the development of local economies for a resilient future on the island. Reflecting on a "tough but rewarding day," Zane observed "there are so many wonderful stories of community and recovery in the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria...In these extreme circumstances, Puerto Rico's true spirit and nature were revealed...the people of Puerto Rico haven't lost the natural empathy for neighbors and strangers that the effects of Maria revealed. I can't wait to return with my family!" Read Zane's full post on our Facebook page, linked below.
