The civilization, culture, and history of Europe has always fascinated me. A favorite way to explore is by river cruise, where you get an in-depth experience of the region. Ocean cruises allow you to island-hop and even to experience multiple countries on one fabulous trip. My key advice is to include stops off the beaten path, explore the side streets, and allow plenty of free time to wander. Thanks to my son's relocation to Japan, multiple visits gave me the opportunity to learn about, enjoy, and experience that culture, from their amazingly modern technology to the centuries of tradition still observed today.My third specialty is French Polynesia, because who doesn't dream of paradise? The islands are as spectacular in reality as they are in photos!
