ASTA Announces New Hires in Membership, Communications, Marketing and More

 

 

 

The new hires and promotions will help the association better reach and serve its members as well as grow its membership numbers.

 

Alexandria, VA —  The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) is pleased to announce a number of recent hires and staff promotions intended grow its membership, communications, marketing, legal and business development capacity as the industry continues its recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. 

Over the past few months, the following personnel have been hired to fill vacant or newly-created positions:  

• Dave Bowman joined ASTA as the new Vice President of Membership. Based in Alexandria, he will oversee all member recruitment, engagement and retention efforts at ASTA. Bowman spent time as a Minuteman missile crew commander and weapon system instructor in the Air Force before joining the nonprofit management field, most recently at NARFE—an association for federal employees and retirees.  

• Andrea Caufield was promoted to Director of Membership. Based in Alexandria, she will start her 8th year at ASTA in January.  

• Alannah Royall joined ASTA in July as Membership Coordinator. She previously worked with Green Target Global Group, FEMA and Enterprise. She is also a recent graduate of Bowie State University.  

• Megan Webster joined ASTA as the new Senior Director, Marketing in June. Based in Alexandria, she previously held positions at American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and in various other nonprofit marketing roles for over 19 years.  

• Jason Boeckman joined ASTA as the Manager of Marketing. Based in Southwest Florida, Jason was recently with the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau promoting Fort Myers as a travel destination.  

• Michael Schottey joined ASTA as the Director of Communications. Based in Florida, he previously worked at TravelPulse and has worked extensively in travel, sports and lifestyle journalism.  

• Lewis Nobles joined ASTA as the Business Development Coordinator in June. Based in Florida, he previously worked at Royal Caribbean Cruises (one of ASTA’s proud partners). 

• Hayley Anhalt joined ASTA as the Paralegal in June. She is currently obtaining her J.D. from Elon University School of Law.
