The second annual gathering hosts over 750 travel advisors, travel suppliers and cruise professionals, featuring nine cruise ships from six river cruise lines.
Budapest, Hungary, March 16, 2023 – The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) and over 750 US based travel advisors, travel suppliers and cruise professionals convene at the Global River Cruise Expo in Budapest, March 15-28—all welcomed by the Hungarian Tourism Agency.
Attendees will learn about this premiere port destination along the Danube River by networking with local suppliers on immersive city tours and making new business connections during a sold-out tradeshow.
Cruise Lines and ships at the event included: AmaWaterways (AmaMagna, AmaViola, AmaVerde), Amadeus River Cruises (Silver III), Avalon Waterways (Envision), Riverside Luxury Cruises (Mozart), Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours (Jasper) and Viking (Modi, Vali).
The event gives attendees the ability to stay on the ships themselves during the event, as well as attend educational sessions, dine and tour each of the other ships throughout their stay.
“It’s an honor to host another highly sought-after Global River Cruise Expo in Budapest,” said Zane Kerby, President and CEO of the American Society of Travel Advisors. “The best way to gain a reputation in our business is by expanding first-hand product knowledge and personal relationships. International travel is surpassing pre-pandemic levels and the cruise market is growing by double digits. Travel advisors who are here with us will be prepared to guide and advise their clients and tap into the enormous potential of river cruising.”
Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck made a special appearance, accompanied by Vanessa McGovern, Gifted Travel Network’s (GTN) Chief Sales and Marketing Officer and ASTA’s Executive Committee Board Member, for a keynote conversation about the importance of bringing people together through culture, cuisine and tourism.
