ASTA Partners with Signature Travel Network on Verified Travel Advisor Certification

 

 

The consortium has provided exclusive access to VTA training for their network to support the professional development of all members.

Alexandria, VA, September 10, 2024 — The American Society of Travel Advisors is proud to partner with Signature Travel Network to offer its Verified Travel Advisor (VTA) Certification program complimentary to advisors in its Embark Level 2 program designed for new-to-industry advisors with less than two years of experience. 

All other Signature travel advisors will receive subsidized rates for VTA certification: 

- $99 if completed by 12/31/24 ($300 savings)

- $149 if complete by 12/31/25 ($250 savings)

- $49 CEU every two years ($50 savings) 

This move comes as the Society doubles down on its commitment to professionalism in the industry. The four core components of ASTA’s VTA program include:

- Legal Insights: Protecting ASTA Member Agencies

- Ethical Excellence: ASTA’s Code of Ethics

- Legal Compass: Navigating Agency Relationships

- Regulatory: Federal Compliance for Travel Agencies

Maintaining VTA certification requires four Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every two years. The four CEUs can be earned through a combination of coursework (minimum of 2) and/or Signature or ASTA event attendance.

“ASTA’s Verified Travel Advisor certification provides the essential professional training for travel advisors who have some experience under their belt but want to take their business to the next level,” said Gina Weyer, Vice President of Training at Signature Travel Network. “The courses provide training that help travel advisors comply with federal regulations and operate ethically. This is crucial for any advisor that wants to signal to their clients and their peers that they’re serious about their business.” 

Signature is a Sapphire-Level Proud Partner of ASTA, and ASTA is grateful to Signature for recognizing how important training is to the success of their travel advisors. The new program was announced at Signature’s Owners’ Meeting last week and will be launched on September 17th.
