Travelling has been a passion for me ever since my first trip to Australia at 9 years old with my Mother. It was such a wonderful experience for me visiting with all my aunts, uncles, & cousins for the very first time. My parents were first generation Australians and all my relatives are there. I'm now first generation Canadian with my 3 brothers. My husband and I have since moved permanently to our home in Florida after having retired from our 2nd career owning a franchise retail business in Canada for 20 years. We found that when we owned our business in Canada, we dedicated so much of our time to the business, that we didn't have as much time to invest in friendships while we were in business in a small community. Although we absolutely loved our business and it was very good to us, we felt we'd had enough and that we needed to retire from it. We absolutely fell in love with the people that we met within both our neighborhood & tennis community in Southwest Florida. We knew for sure that this move was the right move for us when my husband, Rene had a life threatening heart attack last year and the entire community rallied around us and helped us with our 2 dogs, walking them multiple times a day while we were at the hospital as he recovered. They also arranged a meal train during that rough period of time while we waited and prayed that my husband would make it through ok and miraculously he did!
