About
I’ll first say that traveling isn’t always smooth sailing. There are unpleasant situations such as lost luggage, canceled flights, missing reservations, hotels that didn’t look anything like their websites, a hurricane, volcanic eruptions, or medical emergencies. There is no need to worry because I have your back! While you enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon at the museum, I’ll locate your missing luggage, secure new flights, change hotel accommodations, reschedule arrangements to avoid natural disasters or handle any other unforeseen situations.
I know exactly what is needed to create a fabulous getaway and how to handle those bumps, which is why I decided to become a travel agent. In 2007, I entered the travel industry after a big move with my family. My husband, daughter, our three dogs, and I relocated from Minnesota to North Carolina for my husband’s job. This allowed me to change careers and share my first-hand travel expertise with others. I began working at a well-known travel agency, where I received detailed training in the art of planning tailored vacations for couples and families. The education I received is pure gold. In 2013, the travel agency was sold, and that is when I opened April Powers Travel and turned my focus towards custom-designed travel, and I’ve never looked back.
